If you see a purple screen that says "HDCP Unauthorized. Content Disabled", often the purple screens are the result of a loose HDMI connector, or a bad HDMI cord.

To resolve the "HDCP: Unauthorized Content" issue, try these steps: 

1. On both your Roku player and your TV or receiver, unplug each end of the HDMI connectors.

2. Unplug the TV and the Roku player for 30 seconds.

3. Reconnect both ends of the HDMI cord, pushing them firmly, all the way in.

4. Plug in the TV and Roku player. 

5. Try viewing the video again. 

Should the above steps not work, try using a different HDMI cable, just to make sure the cable you're currently using doesn't have any defects.

If this is the first time you are are seeing this HDCP purple screen after setting up your Roku player, your TV or receiver may not support HDCP (a content copy-protection solution) over HDMI. This is generally true for older TV models that have early HDMI implementations that do not follow current standards. Try contacting your TV manufacturer for more information.

NOTE: If you were able to play content on channels before, and you are now seeing the purple "HDCP Unauthorized: Content Disabled" message and the above steps have not resolved this issue, please contact roku support.
